The Certified Intrinsic Coach® certification is a great way to gain a recognizable coaching certification and solid and distinctive coaching skills. You will also gain greater confidence in being able to clarify and achieve your own goals. You will learn what intrinsic, extrinsic, and systemic valuing is and how these three types of valuing inform and influence our choices when supporting people as a professional and in our own day to day living. You will learn what intrinsic valuing is, how to enact intrinsic valuing, how to maintain intrinsic valuing in the face of external pressures, and how intrinsic valuing engages best thinking about people, whether thinking about someone else or thinking about yourself. Lastly, you will learn how to actualize and apply the hierarchy of the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology, I>E>S, which enables skillful navigating of the complexities of being an intrinsic (unique) human being in a complex world.
Intrinsic Coach® Series I
Highly interactive, this course will enable you to engage people as a coach, integrate coaching skills into your daily interactions at work, and bring the benefits of what you will learn beyond work, extending the benefits even into your daily life with others and when thinking about yourself. With an emphasis on eliciting intrinsic thinking, the skills learned in the Intrinsic Coach® Series I will give you an effective alternative to trying even harder to motivate or get things done with people. You will learn what intrinsic, extrinsic, and systemic valuing is and how these three types of valuing inform and influence our choices when supporting people as a professional and also in our day to day choices. The end goal of this course is to be able to actualize and apply the I>E>S hierarchy of the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology when working and interacting with people and also when thinking about yourself.
Intrinsic Coach® Series II
With an emphasis on experiencing I>E>S in your own thinking applied to choices in multiple domains, the skills you will learn in this highly interactive course are developmentally more advanced than those learned in the first series and lead to a discernibly higher level of proficiency. Upon completion, you will have a higher skill level and more confidence in your coaching skills and choices when engaging people's best thinking, and engaging your own best thinking, both at work and outside of work, and experience improved relationships, and greater clarity in life. The skills you will learn create benefits whenever good outcomes depend on best thinking about people and choices related to people, including yourself.
Standards & Benchmarks Seminar
This highly interactive two hour seminar via teleconference reviews and summarizes principles, standards, and goals central to the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology that would also benefit any methodology intended to support people.
Certified Intrinsic Coach® professionals gain a certification that is recognized and trusted in the workplace, especially in healthcare and the health & wellness industry for both providers and leaders. Certified Intrinsic Coach® professionals also use their certification and skills to differentiate themselves in their independent practices, especially in coaching, counseling, consulting, and therapy.
If you get this certification and then want more, you can apply the hours toward the Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) certification to become an expert in both understanding valuations and independently using valuation measurements with others.
Both the the Certified Intrinsic Coach® (CIC) and Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) certifications are CCE-Approved to be applied toward the prestigious Board Certified Coach certification.

The Intrinsic Coaching® methodology is more than a methodology – it’s a different way of thinking, a more choiceful way of thinking and a more mature way of thinking. It’s choosing to regard people as being more than what is merely apparent to you, so that you can see more and work with more. Because of this improvement in my own way of thinking, I’ve experienced so much joy, so much satisfaction and working with people has become easier and easier. - Jannie Putter
With a highly skilled coach mentor, interactive classes, meeting two hours a week over 25 weeks, a 300 plus page manual to read and enjoy in between the live sessions, and a progressive approach to skill development - one step at a time, with each step informing the next - the Intrinsic Coach® Series I, II, & III builds up and then builds on awareness of, skills for, and knowledge about intrinsic thinking, which is central to a good life and good results for, with, and through people, and for you.
The Intrinsic Coaching® methodology is really more than a methodology – it’s a way thinking. You’ve got to change your way of thinking when working with people, especially if they see you as the “expert”. It is not about you! It is all about your (expert) ability to elicit the best way of thinking in the person coming to you – elicit that person’s intrinsic thinking. Since learning the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology, I became more aware of the power of my own perceptions and how it used to get me side-tracked from finding what is really important to the other person. What a relief to let go of yourself! Now it is not MY responsibility to come up with the “solutions.” It is really in the hands of the person looking for it. The Intrinsic Coaching® methodology is a different way of thinking, a more choiceful way of thinking and a more mature way of thinking. It’s choosing to regard people as being more than what is merely apparent to you, so that you can see more and work with more. It’s the way you choose to see people first that matters, before you can really help them. Because of this improvement of my own way of thinking, I’ve experienced so much joy, so much satisfaction and working with people has become easier and easier. Wow!!!

This experience is one of the best experiences I have been through. As a result of learning Intrinsic Coaching® I am now able to have better communication with my members at work as well as with the people surrounding me. Not until I found this clarity within myself did I understand my potential as well as relate with others. I'm appreciating the unfolding and recognizing it's okay to pause and let the member's thought marinate as this will stimulate their best thinking. I am very grateful for the Intrinsic Coach® Series as it has taught me a lot more than what I expected. I am continously learning more and more with each experience as well as with time. I never thought that Intrinsic Coaching® would have such an impact in my life as well as the life of people I am able to speak with. It has helped me make myself a happier me. - Rosamaria Baltazar
It is interesting to notice how we all want the quick answer and aren’t comfortable when people don’t have an answer and there is silence. As people search sometimes they don’t know what they want. When I ask people what they want, I find myself being taken in directions that you would have had no idea about and I’m reminded of the concept of people being and having more than what is merely apparent. There is this whole piece to the person that you could never begin to guess and will never see unless you give them the time. On the health side, we can’t begin to address anyone’s health issues until we begin to address what is important to that person and let that person really think about it. It’s taking a step back from the automatic problem solving we do to an approach that involves people searching for themselves and for what they see as important. It seems like it should be easy but you really do have to learn how. - Mary Weiss
The Intrinsic Coaching® methodology and its I>E>S hierarchy brings peace out of the chaos of life and the world. Through learning to apply I>E>S, I have learned to step back and see others as they are, and not what I think they are or should be. Learning the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology has really helped me to be a kinder, more open person who can see more potential in myself and the people around me than I saw done before. I love asking people the wanting question because it is a question that most people have never been asked, but the answer for them, eventually emerges and brings such clarity. What a terrific gift. - Donna Henault
I appreciate that the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology can be applied not only to health coaching but to multiple decision-making situations that arise in one's journey through life. I am grateful for this learning opportunity. Thank you! - Barbara Sampson
The Intrinsic Coaching® methodology doesn't need to be an all or none approach to make an impact. I used just two of the skills to help frustrated team members get focused on their intrinsic goals. As their intrinsic contributions started to unfold, they started to believe in what they wanted and that made what the client wanted become attainable. All I did was direct the conversation back to them, remained focused on their intrinsic goals, and they were able to quickly go through the obstacles and develop solutions. The bonus of taking this approach was the buy-in I received when they announced collectively, “We can do this.” Clearly, focusing on their intrinsic goals rather than the problems proved to be a win-win. They left the meeting ready to conquer the world and a meeting I thought was going to take 2 hours lasted only take 45 minutes. - Anthony Scaglione
I’m really understanding and wanting to be an advocate for people’s best thinking, and more importantly be an advocate for my son and his best thinking. In continuing my development through the ICS II, I now have a way to talk with people so they can see more of themselves and more of the people around them and who they serve. I’m really wanting a way to bring this to more physicians so they can really see the person and not just a ‘patient’. Throughout all of this I've also been asking myself what I'm wanting and have been gaining clarity along the way. As a result, things make more sense for me now and I'm experiencing full aliveness in my life.
Learning the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology has completely enriched my life. Professionally I’m appreciating my work again. Personally I’m feeling more calm. It has everything to do with my new way of thinking. It’s taken the focus off what I valued before, which really wasn’t working, to putting my focus on what is valuable. My patience has further developed which leads to calmness in my thinking which leads to being a better listener and being more choiceful in my thinking. It’s been a great awakening! - Jack O'Connor
The learning that has been particular important to me is valuing that everyone has the knowledge of what they want and what is important to them and when we help create the space for their best thinking, the answers will become apparent to them. The coach doesn't have the answers, the coachee does. That takes off all the pressure and is a huge relief to know how I can truly help people by using this methodology. – Deb Winette
This has been a wonderful experience and I am grateful that I took the leap to get this certification. I thought that I was a pretty good listener, but going through this training has shown me another level of how to truly value another person and guide a conversation in a way that can surprise and enlighten both of us. You won't get real change without personal clarity, which is unleashed through the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology. – Leslie Bechtell
I have found myself to be a better health coach with learning what intrinsic means and how to apply the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology to my daily life. I now understand being a health coach is less about having the facts and more about finding each individual's best thinking and clarity. – Amanda Manna
Without this methodology, we don’t get to what is most important - people's intrinsic thinking - because we're so caught up with trying to make something happen. I understand the thought processes now of intrinsic thinking and the importance of making intrinsic thinking the priority.
Learning the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology is so counter-intuitive that I was a total skeptic when I started. Now I’m a believer! I have more of a relationship with my patients, it takes less time and it’s opening entirely new doors, even with patients that I’ve had for two years or more! - Tracey Sholtis
