Certified Valuations
Specialist

The Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) certification represents excellence in coaching by integrating the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology with the use of measurements illustrating a person’s valuation patterns. Valuation patterns are thought processes guide a person's choices that lead one person to stay up all night to meet a deadline and another person to sleep and start again in the morning. This combination of coaching and a profoundly impactful measurement instrument that you can use independently once certified makes a powerful difference in coaching, consulting, program design, and anywhere you want stand-out results.

The Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) certification follows or includes the Certified Intrinsic Coach® certification depending on your prior training with ISINTL.

TESTIMONIALS

The Thinking Behind Choices provided incredible insight for me personally and professionally. Having the opportunity to understand the framework for how I make decisions was enlightening and empowering. Until taking the Thinking Behind Choices, I had no way to understand why I think the way I do. Once I learned about my patterns of thinking, I realized that the content of our thoughts is just the tip of the iceberg for each of us. The deeper understanding I gained of myself has been powerful for my own growth and development and for my ability to coach and teach others effectively. Although I may not know the profile measurements for each person I serve, I now, almost automatically, recognize there is more to each person than any of us can see on the surface, something I experienced first-hand in the training. The new awareness and deeper understanding provided by the Thinking Behind Choices has equipped me to be a more effective coach, leader, and communicator, both personally and professionally. There were a lot of measurements to learn, every one an eye-opener, and, by the end of the training, all the concepts really come together.

BENEFITS
KNOW
YOURSELF

A CHES
after seeing her own measurements, was able to “hear” something her husband had been trying to tell her for years. Understanding the details of her patterns of thinking helped her and her husband get through a stressful transition from pre- to post-retirement and from a big house to a small house.

A REGISTERED
DIETITIAN

was astonished to see confirmation of what people told her – she was too trusting. The specificity of seeing in her measurements exactly where she was too trusting helped her know what to do. Reassessing nine months later, her measurements had shifted, confirming for her the successful shift she was also experiencing in her life.

A HOSPITAL
DEPARTMENT HEAD

living with a chronic disease had lost confidence in her capabilities, thinking her illness had eroded them. She saw in her measurements that her capabilities in appraising the world around her were intact, and her challenge was in appraising herself. With renewed confidence in her ability to “get things done,” she attended to her internal clarity and to getting to know herself again as she lived her life and managed her illness both at work and at home.

A PERFORMANCE
COACH

saw his unpleasant experiences as an entrepreneur “jump up off the page,” which led him to apply attention and effort in an area necessary for successful entrepreneurship that he would have, otherwise, kept ignoring.

BENEFITS
ADDRESS
PROBLEMS

AN MCHES
was able to help herself deal with a sensitive issue that was causing division among her family members. In learning about her own patterns of thinking, her eyes opened to the experiences of other family members as each of them tried to make sense of the situation. Through her new understanding, she become a peacemaker and united her family in a way she had not been able to before.

A NUTRITIONIST
found out why she experienced constant performance related stress. Through becoming aware of one of her predominant patterns of thinking, she gained the freedom from stress she had been wanting. Reassessing six months later, her global pattern of thinking about herself had shifted in a direction that reflected and confirmed the freedom from stress she was discovering in her life.

A BANKER
turned down advancement in her job because she felt like "a mess." Seeing that her measurements revealed very strong world clarities, she recalled that she is the “go to” person at work whenever there is a problem. She learned that while her world clarities were strong, her clarities about herself were uncertain. With this new way of knowing herself and the clarity it brought,, she accepted advancement at work and also began seeing a therapist.

BENEFITS
BECOME
A BETTER COACH

A BCC became aware of a pattern she noticed in her coaching work with healthcare professionals that reduced personal organizational effectiveness and increased stress. With her new knowledge of patterns of thinking and valuation processes, she became aware that valuations are a part of both personal decision-making and organizational processes. Without that knowledge, she could have and, indeed, had sometimes coached to one or the other. Now she knows when it is more effective to coach to both.

CERTIFIED VALUATIONS SPECIALIST // OBJECTIVES

The Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) certification represents excellence in coaching through the use of a profoundly impactful measurement instrument that illustrates valuation patterns - thought processes that typically happen without awareness and lead a person to think, “This is more valuable than that.” A valuation pattern is behind one person’s decision to stay up all night to meet a deadline and another person's decision to go to sleep and start again in the morning.

Providing dual certifications (Certified Valuations Specialist & Certified Intrinsic Coach®) and following 100 hours of training, the Certified Valuations Specialist certification includes outside application in utilizing the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology while working with people's unique patterns of thinking: 28 measurements plus combinations that individually and together illuminate the thinking behind choices, at rest, during problem solving, and when under stress.

As a highly interactive achievement, your learning will come from two course sequences, with opportunities to complete some of the courses concurrently. The Intrinsic Coach® course sequence focuses on coaching skills and applications. The Thinking Behind Choices course sequence focuses on measurements of valuations and integrating the use of these measurements with the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology.

The goal of the Certified Valuations Specialist certification is to be able to integrate the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology with the use of measurements illustrating the details of a person's thinking behind choices, including your own, in coaching, consulting, program design, and anywhere a clear understanding of the thinking behind choices makes the necessary difference in being successful when addressing choices. While working on this certification, you can also expect to experience your own personal development and a positive impact in your life of what you are learning.

To assure the maximum learning benefit, it is strongly recommended to complete the Intrinsic Coach® Series I before any overlap of CVS and CIC training events.

Specifically:
  • Intrinsic Coach® Series I
Highly interactive, this course will enable you to engage people as a coach, integrate coaching skills into your daily interactions at work, and bring the benefits of what you will learn beyond work, extending the benefits even into your daily life with others and when thinking about yourself. With an emphasis on eliciting intrinsic thinking, the skills learned in the Intrinsic Coach® Series I will give you an effective alternative to trying even harder to motivate or get things done with people. You will learn what intrinsic, extrinsic, and systemic valuing is and how these three types of valuing inform and influence our choices when supporting people as a professional and also in our day to day choices. The end goal of this course is to be able to actualize and apply the I>E>S hierarchy of the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology when working and interacting with people and also when thinking about yourself.

  • Intrinsic Coach® Series II
With an emphasis on experiencing I>E>S in your own thinking applied to choices in multiple domains, the skills you will learn in this highly interactive cours are developmentally more advanced than those learned in the first series and lead to a discernibly higher level of proficiency. Upon completion, you will have a higher skill level and more confidence in your coaching skills and choices when engaging people's best thinking, and engaging your own best thinking, both at work and outside of work, and experience improved relationships, and greater clarity in life. The skills you will learn create benefits whenever good outcomes depend on best thinking about people and choices related to people, including yourself.

  • Standards & Benchmarks
This highly interactive two hour seminar via teleconference reviews and summarizes principles, standards, and goals central to the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology that would also benefit any methodology intended to support people.

  • Value Appraisal: The Thinking Behind Choices I
After taking an online assessment, you will have your own measurements of the patterns of thinking you use, whether reflexively or more consciously, when you make choices. The assessment is taken before training begins. Using your own measurements to learn about the intricacies of decision-making, you will understand not only how you, specifically and uniquely, arrive at what makes sense to you, but also how people, each in their own unique way, do the same, whether habitually or after thinking things through. You will begin to carry these learnings to your work with people, as a coach, consultant, service professional, leader, program designer, and also to yourself as a person making choices while living and working with people. Throughout the 12-weeks, you will learn a total of 28 measurements that have meaning individually and in combination that open up awareness of, skills for, and knowledge about valuations that create the thinking behind choices.

  • Value Appraisal: The Thinking Behind Choices II
You will enable two people to take the same online assessment and review their results with them while integrating the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology. You will collaborate with your peers during this application phase, having opportunities to prepare yourself to work with a person in the context of what you are learning and also benefit from participant debriefs on their experiences.

  • Value Appraisal: The Thinking Behind Choices III
Participants prepare a brief presentation – a mini-case study – for which a simple, step-by-step template is provided. Typically about an experience with one person, sometimes participants present their own growth, which occurred as a result of having their own measurements. During the presentations, you can expect to witness, including in yourself, a skill level beyond anything you had anticipated when starting.

  • Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) Certification
Upon completion of attendance, participation, and assessment experience requirements, participants are awarded the Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) Certification, which is CCE-Approved for the Board Certified Coach Certification. Certified Valuations Specialists have independent access to the online vehicle that enables the use of the measurement instrument, online video resources, continued live and collaborative learning opportunities, and access to the community of Certified Valuation Specialists.

Tab 3

CVS
CERTIFIED VALUATIONS SPECIALIST

Certified Valuation Specialists also carry the Certified Intrinsic Coach® certification and gain access to independent use of the valuation profile. Certified Valuations Specialists currently use the profile in their coaching, consulting, and therapy practices.

The Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) certification is CCE-Approved to be applied toward the prestigious Board Certified Coach certification.

A senior leader, who had not been "feeling like himself," was stunned when his measurements not only illustrated the stress he was under but also pointed to the nature of the stress, which he had been struggling to identify. His measurements also assured him that his high level capacities were still intact. In seeing confirmation that he was, in fact, “still himself” and in being enabled to articulate his stress with clarity, he was able to make changes that are important to him.

INCREASE PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

The Certified Valuations Specialist certification, as a dual certification that includes the Certified Intrinsic Coach® certification, represents excellence in both coaching and the independent use of valuation measurements. A valuation is the thinking behind choices that leads one person to stay up all night to meet a deadline and another person to go to bed and start again in the morning. While one outcome of the Certified Valuations Specialist certification is having independent access to the valuation measurement instrument, the skills gained will serve both with and without using the valuation profile. There is no other coaching certification that includes excellence in intrinsic valuing, knowledge of valuations and valuation measurements, and the application of the I>E>S hierarchy of value.

From the Certified Intrinsic Coach® certification, you will have a recognizable coaching certification and solid and distinctive coaching skills and also greater confidence in being able to clarify and achieve your own goals. You learn what intrinsic, extrinsic, and systemic valuing is and how these three types of valuing inform and influence our choices when supporting people as a professional and in your own day to day living. You will learn what intrinsic valuing is, how to enact intrinsic valuing, how to maintain intrinsic valuing in the face of external pressures, and how intrinsic valuing engages best thinking about people, whether thinking about someone else or thinking about yourself. You learn how to actualize and apply the hierarchy of the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology, I>E>S, which enables skillful navigating of the complexities of being an intrinsic (unique) human being in a complex world.

Continuing on (or working concurrently) to gain the Certified Valuations Specialist certification, you learn about, and directly work with, detailed measurements that illuminate a person's unique experience of the self, the world around the self, and as this experience occurs within a point in time.

There is much to learn about engaging and understanding valuations, both with and without the measurements. Valuations are patterns of thinking that indicate “this is more important than that” and “this choice makes more sense than that choice.” Valuations are hidden processes that drive the content of our thoughts - they are relevant to and operating within every human being. In coaching, you will engage the valuation pattern, I>E>S, to engage best thinking about people, and in use of valuation measurements you will learn what these invisible processes are by name and specific function: you will be able to identify 28 measurements plus their combinations, understand these measurements both as concepts and as they are experienced by people.

The experience of learning the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology and the knowledge of valuation patterns, with specificity, along with the personal experience of I>E>S and these measurements of valuation patterns as they apply to you (and come alive in you) is a lasting eye-opener that forms a personal and professional skill base for anyone.

The Certified Valuations Specialist certification differentiates your services and provides benefits and skills that are personally, professionally and universally important and unique to each human being.
As a Certified Valuation Specialist (CVS), I have the tools and the title that allow me to work with people at a heightened level of effectiveness. In addition, becoming a CVS has opened new doors for me as a professional as I can better serve existing clients and now have opportunities to work with new clients I was unable to reach in the past. Being a CVS is allowing me to grow my business and make a positive difference in the world at the same time. - Charity Butler, Pro Speaker for Sports World, Inc., Author Prep Steps, Founder Exceed Sports, LLC & the I Heart Fast Pitch Campaign

A MESSAGE FROM
CHRISTINA

Hello,

Are you wanting something new, exciting, expanding, filled with the unexpected (in a good way!), differentiating, and that will give you more than what you might be expecting? From my personal experience working with people who have gotten the Certified Valuations Specialist (CVS) certification, I think you will get just that, which is why I hope you will jump in, too.

The CVS is a significant achievement and it’s CCE-Approved for the Board Certified Coach. You can get the training components in multiple ways, which makes it relatively easy on your schedule. Training is via live teleconference, live webinar, and, for missed live sessions, via audio and video recording. For what you get, and compared to other certifications, the Certified Valuations Specialist is affordable and we make it more so by offering expanded payment options, even up to nine months. Perhaps more importantly, the courses you take to get the CVS certification give you a rare opportunity to learn about how people, including yourself, put their thoughts together to determine what makes sense (decisions and choices) in a way that is supported by cognitive science yet most people have never experienced. You will learn about valuations, the hidden machinery that drives choices, become aware of intrinsic, extrinsic, and systemic thinking, and gain rare skills to choose a hierarchy of value, I>E>S when I>E>S is what provides those elusive better outcomes we want for people, including ourselves. Including because this is vitally important, your training is paced and organized so that, in the end, you won’t just know about something (the problem with “intensives”), you will also have an expanded awareness that goes with you and benefits you wherever you go, and both an expanded skill base and service that makes you stand out as a professional.

The CVS, as a dual certification, either follows or includes the Certified Intrinsic Coach® certification. The experience of learning the Intrinsic Coaching® methodology and the knowledge of valuation patterns, with specificity, along with the personal experience of I>E>S and the measurements of valuation patterns as they apply to people and come alive in you is a lasting eye-opener that forms a personal and professional skill base for anyone. Along with the ability to bring the measurements to others as a new service offering, I am not aware of any other such opportunity other than here. It's one that I think is not to be missed.
